I bought this because I wanted a unit quieter and more powerful than an older Sharp window AC that the previous homeowners left in the house. This AFS100RX delivered. It's not whisper quiet, but definitely not overpowering on the low fan. It also pumps out a lot of cold air. As other reviewers have said it's lightweight.
