Fast shipping, great unit. I too had problems figuring out which plug to use. I called GE's tech support line, and it took them awhile to come up with the answer. Apparently, the power input is internally jumpered so that the number of heating coils used depends on the ampacity of the cord. And the heating coils are only used if the outside temp falls to 25F or less. So the answer is - size your cord based on your low temperature heating needs. I didn't need heat so much as cooling, so I was able to get by with just a 20A circuit.
